What is there to do that's different in the ACT?

I go to Canberra a lot for work, but this time I want to take my girlfriend with me and show her something other than Parliament House, the Art Gallery and the War Memorial.

Questacon,
Black mountain tower,
Mount Ainslie, where you can see the war memorial and the Parliament house without actually having to go inside them.
Australian institute of Sport,
Just outside of canberra, is Molongolo Gorge. Nice place for a country picnic. (its near where the Subaru rally is held)
There's probably heaps more to do, there's 4 major shopping centres, and heaps of restaurants, but once you've been here twice or three times, you've pretty much seen it all.

Legal sex shops, fire works and prostitution.

Thats about it .......................Actually the wineries are not bad.

I lived in Canberra for 10 years and I can't think of a single thing to do except what you've just said. Sad, but true.

Hi looks like you've missed out on the ski season by 7 months that's when being in the ACT is very handy .But still plenty of bush walking or horse riding/fishing around the ACT.

Questacon, Black Mountain, the National Aquarium and Wildlife Sanctuary, the Australian Institute of Sport, Government House, Mt Stromlo Observatory, the Canberra Planetarium and Observatory. Do you want more? I can go on :o)

Some people actually come here to attend Question Time in Federal Parliament. No accounting for taste eh? Fire works are not available most of the time not legally anyway.

Take the gf to the recycling yard at the Mugga Lane tip. Unique.

Having lived in Canberra during my childhood, my best suggestion is get another job that doesn't send you there.

One might say your current employer is subjecting you to cruel and unusual punishment.

Maps of cycle tracks in the ACT are sold in bike shops and also look in outdoor shops. Around Lake Burley Griffin is 45km and that should keep you busy for a while. Any road legal bike is OK.
