Are there any festivals on in Canberra over summer?

I know there's lots in spring with Floriade, but what about this time of year?

Hi,

There are plenty of festivals and events on in Canberra during the summer months.

There's Summernats in early Jan each year, Australia Day events, the Multicultral Festival in Febrauary, The Royal Canberra Show in late Febrauary, National Folk Festival at Easter.

For more information please visit either the Canberra Visitors Center on Northborne Avenue or visit the website at: http://www.visitcanberra.com.au

Otherwise you can have a look at the National Capital Authority website: http://www.nationalcapital.gov.au and follow the links to the Summer events page.

There's also events hosted by the ACT Government which includes Sundays in the park, picnics and other events.

In a few weeks the multicultral festival will be on.
Lots of embassies hold events during that time

A few weeks ago there was the science festical thing

At the end of february, the canberra royal show is on.

ON australia day eve is the australia day concert.

I hope this helps...

While in the ACT go north about 20 Km to Gundaroo...a small town with a summer festival that may fit your travel plans. Great place to see the off the city country of OZ. Cheers.
