It's a nice place to live, whoever you are, in the summer - it can be pretty bleak, and veeerrrry windy, during the winter.

Apparently being gay is not yet a compulsory requirement for living there!!

I guess from your question, you mean Brighton, England. I've been there and it is great. There's the amusement pier and during the summer months, you can work on your tan or take a plunge in the Atlantic. I loved the place. Just one thing, though. As a Mexican, maybe you've had little practice living in a cold climate. During the winter, England is a very dull cold place and daylight hours are short. I went to work when it was dark and I left work when it was dark. That can be a little depressing.

UK in general has loads of cons for people from differents countries, due to their kind of different culture, but their universities are top class. You should know that in general they have a "drinking culture" that makes it kind of unsafe to go out at night by yourself. In general however they are nice people and do not make discriminations, especially in the south.
Brighton is among the best places for students in the UK. I ve lived to many places in the UK including Liverpool, Brighton and Plymouth.
Liverpool university was the best but there is great criminality up there
Brighton is a beautiful place to live, no great problems with criminality and drinkers at night. Just make sure to find a nice quiet place to live.
Uni is good, depending on the department you are going to be.
