Why is brasilia a unique city? |
Why is brasilia a unique city? Brasilia was a completely 'planned' city. Brasil wanted a new capital, and selected a sparsely populated area in the country's interior. Using the 'Plano Piloto' concived by urban planner Lucio Costa the city was construct between 1956 and 1960. Many of the major buildings were designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer. Because Brasilia is not city!!!! Wasn't it a planned city? It's the capital of the world's 5th largest nation, which was built in record-time and inaugurated in 1960 (prior to that Rio was the capital). Nowhere else will one see such extraordinary sunsets/-rises and cloud formations. because it was built to be the capital of Brazil Because Brasilia was built out on nowhere to boost economy. |
