Train from B/Ham New St to NEC?

Can I get a train from & to the above. If so is it a frequent service . I spent 4 hrs in a traffice jam to Crufts last year and thought I might give the train a go.

5 min drive, 10 min train.

Best Answer is the incorrect answer. There is no way possible to get from Bham New St to the NEC by car in 5 minutes. Report It

Totally - takes about 15 minutes and they run all the time! Its called international.

Yes, the stop you need for the NEC is Birmingham International and its only 5-10mins on the train from Birmingham New Street. The trains run really regularly.

Yes you can.You catch the train that goes to Birmingham International Airport and then you can take the short walk or monorail to the NEC. I think it is quite a regular sevice.

Birmingham New st to Birmingham International (NEC) is frequent on the main B'ham to Coventry - London line

Yes, it's a very frequent service. I have used it many times when visiting the NEC for the motor show.

Not much use for evening concerts though, as the service doesn't run very late at night.

every few mins throughout the day, takes about 10 mins, get through tickets when you book, some trains even stop there before they enter new street. check out 'the train line web' site for times of your trains & costs. remember though that some times it can even work out cheap to book two singles (one there & one back) than to book one return.

There is a very frequent service and the journey takes just a few minutes.

Yes, it takes about 10 - 15 minutes to get to Birmingham International and they are very frequent.

Very frequent service. Just board any train calling at Birmingham International, and get off there. The NEC is very close (i think its like the same building if I remember rightly!)

We tried to go to Crufts a few years ago by train and it was impossible unless we travelled down the day before. Tried again last year but the same happened so we've given up on that idea. You'd think they would put trains on for exhibitors/visitors but they don't. Best thing we ever did was when we had a campervan and stayed at a camp site 5 minute drive from the NEC for the whole show. We'll more than likely be first in the ring so it's going to be a 4am start just in case there is a lot of traffic!
If you do manage to find a train or don't need to be there early cos you aren't exhibiting I believe the station is within walking distance of the NEC.
Enjoy the show, however you get there!

Yeah, Birmingham New Street to Birmingham International takes just about 15 minutes, and when you leave the station at Birmingham International, its just a short walk directly into the NEC arena!!

Check with the station, or the booking office....some tickets bought at the stations are also your ticket into the show,,,,saves you having to queue to pay to enter when you get there
