Getting Nappies through cargo to UK, to avoid high cost in UK.Can I do that without any problems at HM/Custom?

Hi all. I am a student studying in Birmingham UK. Recently we have had a baby. I have come to the middle east for holidaying, decided to take some baby accessories from here to UK...I discovered that things like Pampers(Nappies) are 75 % cheaper here, with that compared to that of UK prices...It works out cheaper to get then through air cargo....but was thinking whether I will have any issues at the HM customs upon its arrival...or is it ok...previously I had arranged for other cargo deliveries..and I did not have to pay any customs clearance ..because I was classified into a student household....any response will be appreciated...

When travelling from a non-EU country (including the Canary Islands, the Channel islands and Gibraltar) you can bring the following into the UK for your own use without paying UK tax or duty:
...[alcohol + tobacco]...

...拢145 worth of all other goods including gifts and souvenirs....

If you have any more than these allowances you must declare the goods in the red channel or use the red point phone. If you do not, you are breaking the law and we may prosecute you.

You are entitled to these allowances only if you travel with the goods and do not sell them.

If you bring in something worth more than the limit of 拢145, you must pay charges on the full value, not just the value above 拢145.
You and anyone you are travelling with cannot pool your individual allowances to bring in an item worth more than the limit. You will have to pay charges on the full value of the item.
If you are bringing back any duty-free or tax-free goods you bought when you left the UK, these count as part of your allowance.

I think you may have to pay VAT at 17.5% on the pampers if you bring in more than 拢145 worth of them.

You can bring in goods up to the value of 拢145. Anything over this is subject to import duty on the total value.
