Asian visiting Germany?

Hello. I'm asian-american and I want to visit/tour Germany by myself around June. I've never been to europe and germany is the first place I want to go. Does anyone know how asians are treated in Germany? I'm your typical scrawny asian guy, 5'6, 130lbs. I'll be visiting for about 2 weeks and I want to go to either Berlin or Munich. I would also like to visit some of the smaller cities to see what it's like.

Are there many asians in germany? Will I be discriminated against? What are the girls like? I'm sure most of them are taller than me.

When I visited Berlin two years ago, I saw lots of Asian faces, shops and people and no overt racism.

Naturally, there are bound to be some racists in any country, but stay away from 'local' type drinking spots and stick more to the tourist-y places and you shouldn't have any trouble.

As others have suggested, learning a few phrases of the language will take you miles ahead with most people!

Cheers :-)

Germans are really great people and its a wonderful country to visit. Try learning a few common German phrases and just remember not to speak of the French many older Germans still don't like the French.

Why all the thumbs downs? I know many German people and have experienced this firsthand. The French feel the same way so what the problem.

I have been to Germany about a dozen times and the people are always nice and help full. Just like anywhere you go today there will be some idiots who are racists.

As a tourist you will not be discriminated at all.
Learn some phrases to say hallo, thanks and please that will impress. Most Germans speak English, but most will be too shy to speak it.
The smaller cities are more friendly while the Berlin and Munich have a huge multicultural aspect (especial Berlin).
You'll find a lot of Asian in German cities.
If cruising Berlin you want to check out where NOT to go, but not different then NY or other big towns.

For you other guys answering:
I really don't get some of you....ever been to Germany, or do you just want 2 points?

There are Asian people everywhere so they wont look at you that weird. I saw a lot when I went. You might be discriminated against as an American but definitely not as an Asian. They will probably like you. Yes the girls are very tall but I'm sure you could find a short one.

yeah there are, and yes they will
