its amazing how so many answer that probably never set foot on Bahrain or know anything of it..
Bahrain is a muslim country, but many foreigners live and work there.. Its very western minded, very open..
You can dress normally, just keep in mind that you shouldnt probably wear halter tops or short shorts and nothing too see through.. I sleaveless blouse is fine as long as its thick enough. dont go bra-less.. light summer trousers for women are fine.. everyone wears blue jeans here.. Even clamdigger pants or knee knockers are fine as long as they are not short above the knee.. Western sun dresses ive even seen, as long as the top of the dress isnt revealing. You could put a light sweater over it (like those capped jackets) sandels on your feet is just fine... For the most part this western dress is fine and ok as long as you are in major areas like the capitol of Manama.. but if you venture out to the villages or small towns, you might want to be a little more concervative with your dress, long sleaves, looser pants, long dresses, or even buy a simple cover (the traditional black cover called "abaya") all the stores sell them.. just to wear when you go sight seeing outside the major cities.. But for the most part, no one will really say anything to you, just stare thats all. No religious police in Bahrain to bother you... Have fun!.. Oh and a nice wide brimmed hat might be good, its hot , real hot and sunny during summers..

ummm your normal clothes.

I've been to the Middle East, you can relax, it's not what you think. They've seen pretty American girls before

short-shorts, a halter top and spiked heels...

Something stylish and comfortable. Those are the best combinations! Or wear your favorite outfit. Don't be tacky!

A hat .... which covers your entire body from head to foot.

You'll also need a pericscope attachment to see out of, and a can of spam in case you get hungry under there.

Almost anything except a bikini i suppose. I mean have been to jordan and walking around with jeans and a shirt does not impose a problem. But i do take care of not exposing skin too much like wearing shorts or a tank top.

wear a t shirt and cool dress and give some special
gift to your friend. some coolest invitation form her by your good friend.get some comfortable clothes in this hot summer
day!!!.

American women aren't expected to dress in any specific way--it will be pretty obvious that you are an out-of-towner so you won't have to dress like the local women. I'd suggest something conservative, regardless, simply out of respect to the country and yourself. Don't want to draw any unnecessary attention. Don't wear tight, constricting clothing due to the heat.

be normal bahrain is cool what ever you want just dont go walking the streets naked LOL

Bahrain is a very free country. Although it is an Islamic country, but you can wear almost whetever you want. If you show a lot of skin, many people will look at you, but it is not against the law. Do not worry, it is not like Saudi Arabia.

whatever you want that comforts you .

How about a Birka????

A chest flattener.

scarf,long robes,sunglasses,sun block.. yeah..
