Is Bahrain a good / safe place for women to relocate and work?

Hi, Im currently working for an MNC in India . Have got an opportunity to be a business analyst for a company at Bahrain. Not too sure about the place, their culture and stuff. Your views please. Id like to know more about this place

Rina, don't listen to what others say, most of them haven't even been to Bahrain before. Bahrain is a very safe place and a lot of expatriates (mostly from India) are working here. The culture here is an Islamic culture but yet it's a free country (not like Saudi Arabia & Iran). You can wear whatever you want, drive, and also live in whatever style you like. Bahrainis speak very good English, so you won't have trouble living in Bahrain at all.

First you don't tell us what nationality you are. If you are American I would keep your butt where its at or come home, we arent that popular right now. If you aren't, than you may or may not be comfortable with the local customs and attitudes towards woman in Muslim culture. I would suggest you look at your local government for information on the places you plan to work or travel. A web search for travel advisories on the place you plane to travel or work would also be a good idea. So in closing DO YOUR HOMEWORK...all the money in the world wont do you no good if you are dead, mutilated or otherwise missing because of some crackpot.

i have heard in these places it is considered normal for arabic men to rape women and for the woman then to be charged for indecency
this happens even in tourist areas like dubai which are supposed to be modern and are full of western tourists so in short no bahrain is very unsafe even if the salary is high

Bahrain is a safe & free country. I will be going there next month & have done a lot of research on it. Apparently who ever lives there love it so much. I don't think there's something to fear. Go there & good luck.
