Stuttgart, what is there to do besides Mercedes Benz and Porsche's factory?

I have a day to spend in Stuttgart, a Friday, can somebody suggest something I should look out for? Maybe some interesting place to eat, somewhere nice to visit, some night life activites, some shopping places which are popular?
I hope to get to know Stuttgart more, thanks for your help!

SI Centrum

Ah, the city of the rampant mare! Find your way to the fussgangerzone and stroll along having a wonderful time -- this time of year you will have the Christmas market, and wonderful warm "most" - a hot alcoholic apple cider.
