Which are good austin neighborhoods?

i'm considering moving to your fine town.been there once and liked it a lot.i want to return in april and scope out neighborhoods.my price range is low to mid 100's.thanxs austin peoples.

damn poopie j. you're the sh*t.you gots all the answers!

A lot of it depends on your age.

If you are late 20s-early 30s, then one of the hottest spots in Austin is the southwest side of town. More specifically, you should check into the neighborhoods off of Stassney and Emerald Wood, Brodie and Alexandria (Maple Run), Westgate and William Cannon. You will not only be able to find some great houses in your price range that don't need a lot of work and are in pretty good shape but also invest in some property that will continue to increase in value with the growth of the surrounding areas. Additionally, South Austin is old Austin, so there is more of a culture and community vibe.

Good luck!

***Thanks 555 - just trying to help!

Wells Branch up in North Austin close to Round Rock.

I have a duplex on Gracy farms. It is a nice neighborhood.
I lived near Anderson Mills and it is nice there. I guess it depends on where you will be working and what you want to buy or rent.

If I had to live in Austin (and you'd have to put a gun to my head to make me), I'd live in Westlake.

My other choice would be completely out of Travis county into Williamson county.

Travis Heights is tops - it is close to downtown - right next to the SoCo district - has a school district within walking distance - a year round spring-fed swimming pool - is close to everything you need and the neighborhood is quaint and individualistic. There is none finer in Austin if you want the feel of the original Austin.

If I had any advice it would be to stay AWAY from anything East of 1-35!!
