My brother and I are traveling this week, he is underage. What does he do for i.d.?

He doesn't have a driver's licence yet, or any photo i.d. What is he suppose to show the airlines, to prove that he is the ticket holder?

My bother is only 14... he's not old enought for a driver's license...

If you are traveling with him a photo ID is not necessary, because you will be considered his "escort" if you are 16yrs or older.

It never hurts for him to go have one made at the license bureau. They are not expensive. But it is not necessary.

does he have a picture ID from the school he attends ? That would work. If not you should have went to the DMV a long time ago to get a state issued ID

You can go to any driver's license facility and they will issue him a state ID for like $5-10, depending on where you live.

Birth Certificate. Call the airline to make sure.

He still has time to go get one from your local DOT office

Children under 18 are not required to have I.D., but since he is not travelling with parents, it wouldbe a good idea. Airlines accept alternative I.D., such as S.S. card and birth certificate. CALL your specific airline and ASK them what kind of I.D. they want him to have. See site below for what United Airlines says .

In many states you can still go to the driver's license place and get a state ID. I don't think you have to be 16 for that, though I might be wrong. How about a school ID card? And of course, you have his birth certificate, right? You can carry that. I'd call the airline and ask what people generally do, and follow their advice.

Birth cert. is a must. If you have time to get a state id, look into that. Passport would help too

try using a school ID. It probably has a photo of him and his full name on there.... He can use his passport too.
