Is it true if u sit at the bottom of the airplane nothing will happen to u when the plane crashes?

iam soo scared whenever i go in the plane i always think that the plane is gona crash i wana sit some where safe were i will never get killed when the plane crashes and can u tell me what should i do when im stuck with flames all around ???

Not true. that's just an urban legend....But it's a fact that your chances improved (if you are lucky) but only in cases when the plane hit the ground at relatively low speed (landing and take off) at full speed you have no chances.

But even if you survive the crash you will suffer sever injuries (the same as hitting you car against a brick wall) and you can still bleed to death, burn alive or suffocate on the fumes.

There is no such a thing as an "area on the plane where you are NEVER going to get killed". And answering you last question there is not much you can do if you are "stuck with flames all around you", all you can do is pray to faint on the smoke before being burn alive.

Just don't fly if it's so bad for you. Don't bet your life on urban legends; take the bus, train, or cruisers.

it is all non-sense

If your unlucky enough to be on a plane when it crashes then no matter where you are sitting, you are pretty much screwed. At least it will be over quickly. But i have heard that if you are sitting towards the rear of the aircraft you have a 40% better chance of survival than someone sitting at the front (Possibly because in an emergency landing the nose of the aircraft may take most of the force of the impact.)

However keep in mind the chances of dying on a commercial airplane are as low as 9 million to 1 and 95% of crashes have survivors!

What you should always do:
You should familiarize yourself with the information on the safety leaflet in the seat pocket in front of you, ie, the location of the emergency exits on the aircraft (the nearest one may actually be behind you). You should always wear your seatbelt when you are seated. You should be familiar with the brace position and always follow the instructions of the crew in the event of an emergency.

If you are on a plane that for some reason goes on fire while its still on the runway and there is an emergency evacuation, you'd have the best chance of survival if you are seated in an aisle seat within 7 rows of the emergency exit, that way you can get off the plane as quickly as possible before the cabin fills with smoke and fumes. This will be difficult in a crowded cabin full of panicking people. Listen to the crew, as they are well trained in emergency situations.

Sit as close to the tail as possible. Better chance of survival. And always keep your seatbelt snug. Keep the seatbelt on at all times.

Oh, and just FYI. The military have their passenger planes
(C-9, top part of C-5) with the seats FACING the tail instead of facing the NOSE. Something to do with survivability in a crash. From what I heard, the civilian airlines chose NOT to do that because the customers didn't like flying facing backwards(?).

Just thought you'd like that last tidbit.

Oh, and your comment about the flames. KNOW where the exits are and should something happen BOOGIE on over there and get OUT. OK, and wear cotton clothes cause the synthetic (polyester and etc) clothes will melt to your skin and not be much protection at all.
