Flying across the u.s.?

this sunday im flying with 2 kids 2 cats in cabin and my dog in cargo from cali to north carolina on delta. Can anyone tell me if theres a lot of turbulence this time of year? my fear of flying is getting the best of me. the 4hr flight is from SAC to ATL. thanks.

The turbulence depends on the weather in your flight path. If there are thunderstorms, or high winds it may get a little bumpy.

You could go to your Doc. and explain your situation he may be able to prescribe you a couple of Xanax or something else that will help you to relax, but not make you "bombed". My friend gets them when she has to have a dental procedure done so she won't be so anxious and stressed.

Just a quick tip/note: I work for an airline not Delta, but another domestic airline. Make sure you call and see if you can bring 2 cats in cabin. Some airlines have policies that only allow one. My airline is this way and we just had this situation arise the other day. The girl had 2 cats and couldn't take them....... better safe than sorry!

Hope all of this helps you.

I feel sorry for the cats.....and the other passengers.

You're probably fine. Some USAir flights have a little turbulence near the Carolinas, but even then not that much.

If it helps, it's really nothing. Those plains literally have to get caught in a tornado for anything bad to happen to them. They're built to bend. At worse you might get jostled a bit, but it's VERY unlikely.

The turbulence changes with the weather..... literally. It's usually not bad. I actually did that flight just a few weeks ago and aside from a few bumps, it wasn't bad.

Just read a book or something. I flew more than 30 times last year - all over the world and have already been on almost 10 this year. I'm fine. Nothing has happened.
