Carry-on luggage scanner thingy- what does it see?

If someone has something personal in their carry-on luggage do the security guards get to see what it is? Like condoms or tampons or something? Or does it just... detect metal?

The scanner is an x-ray machine and they get to see what size is it. I dont think they would be able to see any details...just how big it is and what the general shape is.

It sees mostly just large items. like the main things in your bag. it is mostly a rough xray of your luggage. it doesn't show great detail. even if they see something personal, the security wouldn't think anything about it. they have too much to do and have there mind set on harmful things.

Metal detectors are extensively used in airports to check for any harmful arms( generally arms may be made up of metals, ex knife, gun, etc...) .This is all done for safety purpose.

It will certainly see any large sex-aid you may carry.

Don't worry. Your safes will be safe, and your tampons won't get tamped on.

I've never heard of anyone hijacking a plane by threatening to have safe sex with the pilot, so the security personnel couldn't care less about the items to which you refer.

Even if they could, so what? People chuck those items into shopping carts all the time and then wait in line to pay--along with toilet paper and beano and acne medication and God only knows what else.

In the scanner, think of it as a x-ray thing, it sees it all but transparent.
