Airline tickets refund for the difference?

I read in an article, but I did not save it that airlines sometimes will pay you back the difference if you buy tickets and they later lower the ticket price. I don't want to cancel my flight I just wanted the difference back. How do I go about in receiving the difference back?

The thing is, there is a "change fee" that is factored in. For example:

You buy a Delata ticket for $300. Two weeks later, the ticket goes down to $275. They do not just give you the $25. They say there is a $75 change fee applied, so you'd owe them $50. Read the fine print on the website, and you will see what they fee is. Now, if the price drops $100, they will apply the $75 change fee, then give you the $25.

Southwest is different though -- they refund the amount fully. Airtran has something like a $125 change fee.

To get the price adjustment, you call their toll free customer service number.

You need to check with customer service of the airline in which you booked your ticket. Don't get your hopes up, chances are there was some fine print at the bottom of that article.
