Airplane alone?

ok so im thirteen and my mom is scared to let me fly down on a plane alone to visit my grandma and grandpa in florida..
What could i say to persuade her and have you ever been on a plane alone before and how old were you?

I know how your mom feel that my passed away grandmother in Japan did just that when she heard I moved to NYC. Her concern was airplane also.
My mom felt same way on short ferry ride within Japan.

When I move to NYC from Japan with my mom on Feb 1996, first I was afraid of my connecting international flight.
Take off and landing, well as height was little scary that time.
When it arrive at Seol Airport and spend night at waiting area, waiting for flight to JFK.
I was so scared that time.
That was when I was about 10-years-old.
Now, I'm not afraid.

Now, age 22 and I travel alone on my first domestic flight on December 18th alone from LaGUardia Airport to Cleveland, I wasn't scared at all.
I would tell her they are prepare for any kinds of emergency situation.
I would also tell her airplanes are realiable than taking train or ferry.
If you travel alone, tell your mom I'll be all right and she would take you to airport. Make sure to plan meeting place with your grandmother or her friends at airport.

Some airlines have an unaccompanied minor program. For an additional fee, they can set up to have people escort you through the airport. They will also have your grandparents come to the gate to pick you up, and they will have to show proper ID. Same goes for when your parents pick you up when you return. They will be able to go to the gate, and will have to show photo ID.

Yes, look into unaccompanied minors. My dad lives in Dubai and Mum lives in England so i travel back and forth on numerous occasions. Your mum would drop you off and you would be escorted onto the plane, the air hostesses would take extra care over you during the flight and youre grandparents would meet you in the arrival lounge, where you would be escorted. This costs alittle more, but is worth it for the security. Most big airlines have this. The first time i travelled alone i was 8; i have done this 4/5 times a year until now.
