What is the worst airplane turbulence you have ever experienced?

What is the worst airplane turbulence you have ever experienced?

Flying into Johannesburg from Durban South Africa. The turbulence were so bad, I thought the wings were going to break off.. I knew i was going to die, but the pilot kept circling the airport to get by the turbulents, but said what the hell he was going to go for it, and hammer through the clouds and landed us perfectly.. We all clapped and congratulated him, we should have just said "Amen", because i know it was God who got us through that flight..

i cant realy rember but maybe when i was coming back from Aruba and we were coming in taking a turn and it is dark and stormy outside, lightning and everything and we were bouncing all around. maybe the only time i have been scared during turbulance.

Flying over the California fires last year. We were getting ready to land in San Diego. I was in the back of the plane, getting ready to walk forward and do safety checks as soon as the pilots said to prepare for landing. Well, it got so turbulent that I had to sit in the aisle of the plane (all seats were taken!). When the pilots say to prepare for landing, they told us to sit down and prepare from our seats...I ended up having to crawl down the aisle, with passengers holding me down, so I could get to my jumpseat.

flying back from barbados.i was petrified and ive done a lot of flying.i kissed my a*se goodbye more than once on that flight.but id go again.

The worst turbulence experience I had was flying to Chicago! The frigging windy city is just that. I mean, the plane kept swaying and dropping! Dropping as in - just enough to make our butts pop up off the chair and our hearts in our throats. I hate that feeling. :(

Geesh, I couldn't wait to get off that thing...
