How do I depart from Australia to another country?

I'm leaving for Bali next Friday, and the thing I'm most nervous about is getting from home to my seat on the plane. I was wondering if anyone knows the exact procedure of getting through customs, checking in, declaring items, passenger cards etc., all that fun stuff, because this will be my first trip outside of Australia without my parents...

1. Make sure all your liquids/creams are in containers less than 100ml and then put them in a clear plastic bag (the size of a glad lunch bag - or you can also get them at the airport)
Fill out one of those green departure cards (which your travel agent should have given you...if not it's OK you can get one at the airport)
2. Go to the airport at least 2 hours prior to your flight departure
3. There will be some screens hanging from the ceiling showing the different flights and which counter you have to go to, to check-in.
4. Go to your counter and line up
5. Get your ticket/eticket ready and open your passport up to the page with the photo and present this to the person at the check-in counter. The person at the check in counter will give you a boarding pass - do not lose this.
6. Go through the immigration gates (your family cannot follow you through here). They will have someone asking if you have any liquids over 100ml, just show them your glad carry bag (or get one off them and put all your liquids into this bag). If you have any liquids over 100ml they will make you throw these out (including bottled water).
7. Line up at the immigration queue and have your passport open up to the photo page, along with the completed filled out departure card and your boarding pass and present this to the immigration officer
8. Your carry on luggage will be x-rayed
9. Keep track of the gate from which your flight is departing, this should be on your boarding pass. Keep it on you at all times and make sure you get to the gate at the time specified on your boarding pass. If you have some spare time between then and the time on your boarding pass feel free to do some duty free shopping or get something to eat.
10. Make your way to the gate and when they announce that the flight is boarding line up in the queue with your boarding pass and your passport open to the photo page. Someone will check all this information and direct you to your seat on the plane

Find the check-in desk for the airline you are flying with, line up, check in, go to the gate from which your flight is leaving. Look at the screens dotted all over.
It's made real easy, so even idiots like myself cannot go wrong!
