Medical College in Ahmadabad, Amdavad, India for NRI?

Hi, i want to study medicine in India. If someone can tell me of Medical colleges in Gujarat that take NRIs i'd appreciate it! Btw, I'm willing to take the entrance exam if required, not trying to pay my way into it!

Hi, the medical admission for all medical colleges in Gujarat is centralized and handled through the BJ medical college; the number of seats is 1725 out of which 925 are govt, 250 in municipal and 550 in trusts;

you can download last year's form from the following site and study the information that will be useful for you; from the following website:

all the rules and basis for admission are given in the form that you can download; although the forms available are for 2007, you can form an informed opinion on how you want to proceed; you will have to go to the websites of each of the four medical colleges in Gujarat which have NRI seats and download their forms or talk to their offices.

the fee structure for NRI seats is US $ 15,000 per year;

Admission on N.R.I. seats are given by the management of the concerned institutions. The admission forms are also sold and received by them. First preference is given to children of Indians settled abroad who can pay the fees in US Dollars. If any seats remain vacant after admission of such N.R.I. students is over, Indian students who can pay and equivalent amount in Indian Rupees as fees are considered for admission according to merit.

there are four medical colleges in Gujarat with specific number of seats set aside for NRI; they are: 15 each in Karamsad, Surendranagar and Surat and 23 in Muncipal medical college of Ahmedabad; all these seats are however centralized and handled by the Health dept and on their behalf by the BJ medical college;

In addition there are payment seats as well; these apply to those who have done their qualifying education in India and may or may not apply for NRIs.

I suggest you directly call one of these colleges and get the details directly; although you wanted info on Ahmedabad, you can call Surat and get the info, which is somewhat similar for all:

I think there are 2 medical college in Amdavad.

B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad and Smt. N.H.L. Municipal Medical College

as far as my knowledge says..

i am not sure about NRI seats but there are always some pay seats...

admission will starts once class 12th result is out in May end or june first week

so you have 2-3 months to find out more.

you wont get application form online.
