there are lot of guest house opposite railwaystation where you can get a room for 150 to 250 as per your choice.

thats easy go to any bookshop, look for the lonly planet books, find the one for india it will tell you not only the cheapest and best but how to find it........

i dont know but there are many hotels in ahmedabad
